Family Worship — 5 Nights

God Is Holy and Near

CONNECT — Night 1

Read:

Scripture (BSB): Isaiah 6:1
1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted; and the train of His robe filled the temple.

Talk:

  • What does Isaiah notice first about God?
  • Why do you think God being on a throne matters?

Pray:
Thank God for being powerful and in charge of everything.

ENCOUNTER — Night 2

Read:

Scripture (BSB): Isaiah 6:2-3
2 Above Him stood seraphim, each having six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying.
3 And they were calling out to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of Hosts; all the earth is full of His glory.”

Talk:

  • What does the word “holy” mean?
  • Why do the angels keep saying God is holy?

Pray:
Praise God for being holy and different from everything else.

ANCHOR — Night 3

Read:

Scripture (BSB): Isaiah 6:5
5 Then I said: “Woe is me, for I am ruined, because I am a man of unclean lips dwelling among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of Hosts.”

Talk:

  • How does Isaiah feel when he realizes God is holy?
  • Why does God’s holiness help us see our own sin?

Pray:
Confess any wrong attitudes or actions and ask God for forgiveness.

RESPOND — Night 4

Read:

Scripture (BSB): Isaiah 6:6-7
6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, and in his hand was a glowing coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar.
7 And with it he touched my mouth and said: “Now that this has touched your lips, your iniquity is removed and your sin is atoned for.”

Talk:

  • What does God do for Isaiah instead of pushing him away?
  • What does this show us about God’s love?

Pray:
Thank God for forgiving sin and making us clean.

SEND — Night 5

Read:

Scripture (BSB): Isaiah 6:8
8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying: “Whom shall I send? Who will go for Us?” And I said: “Here am I. Send me!”

Talk:

  • Why is Isaiah ready to respond after God forgives him?
  • How can our family respond to God this week?

Pray:
Ask God to help your family listen and obey Him together.
